Our daughters are all grown up so . . . we adopted 'the boys,' our surrogate sons, for $50.00 each. The purchase price was cheap, but the vet bills and all the property damage incurred throughout their puppyhood really ratcheted up the expense. They have chewed through miles of irrigation tubing and broke off water lines while doggie jousting with each other. One morning Harry was out in the field on the tractor and spied a 30 plus foot tall geyser originating from the broken water main to the house. Thankfully, we all survived their puppy stage and things are a bit less exciting, unless of course they see a gopher, rabbit, cat . . . |
